چکیده

The aim of the present work is to propose an experimental method to analyse the effect of obstacle properties on human prehension. We investigated the impact of intrinsic and extrinsic properties of the obstacle on transport and grasp components in the same protocol. For that, different tools are combined to record the movement and obtain a redundancy of information about the upper limb in complex prehension movement and allow natural gesture. Vicon 3D motion analysis system and a Cyberglove with a Flock of Birds sensor on the wrist are used to capture arm movements. Results show significant effects of unstructured environment on kinematic parameters during reaching and grasping and specify the influence of obstacle characteristics on movement. Keywords-component: human prehension; Vicon; Cyberglove; obstacle avoidance.

The influence of respiratory motion on dose distribution of 3D-CRT and IMRT- A simulation study

Background: 3DCRT (three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy) and IMRT (intensity-modulated radiotherapy) has provided us with tools to delineate the radiation dose distribution of tumor targets. However, the precision of radiation can be compromised by respiratory motion, which usually limits the geometric and dosimetric accuracy of radiotherapy. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the imp...

3D Hand Motion Evaluation Using HMM

Gesture and motion recognition are needed for a variety of applications. The use of human hand motions as a natural interface tool has motivated researchers to conduct research in the modeling, analysis and recognition of various hand movements. In particular, human-computer intelligent interaction has been a focus of research in vision-based gesture recognition. In this work, we introduce a 3-...

Analysis of 3D Passive Walking Including Turning Motions for the Finite-width Rimless Wheel

The focus of studies in the field of passive walking has often been on straight walking, while less attention has been paid to the field of turning motions. In this paper, the passive motions of a finite width rimless wheel as the simplest 3D model of passive biped walkers was investigated with a focus on turning motions. For this purpose, the hybrid model of the system consisting of continuous...

Constraint therapy versus intensive training: implications for motor control and brain plasticity after stroke.

Many studies have demonstrated that constraint induced movement therapy (CIMT) improves upper limb motor impairment following stroke. This rehabilitation method combines constraint of the less-affected upperlimb with intensive training of the paretic limb. The aim of the present study was to evaluate, in a single case study, the respective effects of each of these two therapeutic interventions....
